In the West Bank and Gaza, the basic needs of the community are often so great that even the idea of tackling the challenges facing the educational system, infrastructure development, household income, and the like, is daunting. Yet CHF International has not shied away from seizing the opportunity to build upon the hopes and aspirations of local communities to effectively improve their lives in a sustainable way. With funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), CHF has been working with communities through its Local Democratic Reform Program (LDR) to build a multi-step Strategic planning processes for local communities, which will provide local leaders with required participatory planning mechanisms and to see their communities’ hopes through.
